I use a holistic, integrative and trauma informed approach, blending evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, parts work and mindfulness techniques, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Drawing on a background in social care, further education, mental health recovery education and lived experience of depression and anxiety. I foster a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and respect. This also allows me to offer a comprehensive and compassionate approach to therapy with a focus on helping clients develop self-awareness with a deeper understanding of their experiences, thoughts and emotions. I empower individuals to make meaningful changes in their lives, develop coping strategies and build resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
I work with clients to help them understand their thoughts. This includes identifying unhelpful thinking styles, exploring how their thinking patterns have been shaped and understanding the link between our thoughts, our emotions and our responses
I work with clients to explore how they feel about themselves, about others and about what has happened in their lives. This includes acknowledging what they are feeling and creating safety in sitting with difficult and uncomfortable feelings
Bodily responses can include our behaviours and actions. It can also include body sensations - whether they are nervous system responses, trauma related or part of living with a serious or chronic illness. My approach is tailored to the client, whether it is supporting them to change or adapt unhelpful behaviours, understand their nervous system patterns, recognise trauma responses or developing coping strategies for living with chronic conditions.
As a therapist with lived experience of depression and anxiety I can offer a unique and empathetic perspective to clients facing similar challenges. My personal understanding of these struggles allows me to connect with clients on a deeper, more authentic level, creating a sense of safety and trust in the therapeutic relationship. This shared experience can help reduce feelings of isolation, as clients may feel more understood and supported by someone who truly knows what it’s like to navigate these issues.
I bring authenticity into my work with clients, while always honouring each person's unique experience. Anything I share is meant to support and enhance your therapeutic journey. I understand that everyone’s path is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. However, my insights may serve as a foundation for you to explore and discover your own approaches, techniques, and understanding.
I provide online therapy and counselling, using Google Meet (GDPR compliant). Meaning you can engage in therapy from the comfort of your own home. It also means you are not restricted in choosing the right therapist for you by your location. A session is 50 minutes in length (a clinical hour) and my fee is €60.00 per session - paid at time of booking. I invite you to read About Me here or Contact Me to arrange a free discovery phone call. We can explore your goals and see if we are a good fit to work together.
